The internet is teeming with distractions and one click, boom! You’re on Facebook for 3 hours.
Like muscle, you need to exercise your ability to focus.
Here are a few things you can do:
1. Turn off distractions.
Work in a quiet, comfortable place and unplug or close any apps that will take your attention away from the task at hand.
2. Do not multitask.
It’s fun at the start but you won’t be able to exercise focus. Imagine running on a treadmill while drinking softdrinks. It’s exactly like that.
3. Keep your goals in front of you.
If you’re working to buy a house, put up a dreamboard of that house. If you want to become a CEO, buy some posters of inspirational leaders for your work room. We keep it simple though: a whiteboard with the tasks of the day.
4. Trim down todos.
It’s never fun to have too many tasks since you end up doing none of them. Keep it to 3 items and cycle them out once you’re done.
5. Reward yourself.
Like cheat day, you need to indulge and treat yourself for a job well done. Even if it’s just a nice cup of coffee.
