For the 2012 Freelance Industry Report, a total of 1,491 freelancers in more than 50 different fields and professions all over the world was asked the question:

“Overall, are you happier since you started freelancing?”

Moreover, freelancers are happier now (90.0%) compared to last year (88.0%). And the results are the same if you break them down by gender, or by the number of years they’ve been working as a freelancer.
